Adama Agricultural Solutions’ insecticide Voraz (methomyl + novaluron) has obtained use extension in Brazil. Voraz can now be used on crops such as tomatoes, millet, sorghum, coconut and palm. The Adama product registration was altered by including the recommendation for application for pre-planting on corn and soybean.

Voraz insecticide combines two modes of action to control caterpillars in Brazil. It was launched nearly a year ago for soybean, corn and wheat, with a focus on Soybean looper, Helicoverpa Armigera, besides the complex Spodoptera genre.

“The extension enables farmers to have an effective pesticide for a set of crops, easing the work in the field and helping to improve the yields. The combination of molecules that compose Voraz guarantees an effective control of various types of caterpillar, including the most resistant species, such as Spodoptera,” Fabricio Pacheco, a product manager at Adama, noted.

The product could also be used for the control of Cotton Leafworm (Alabama argillacea) and tobacco budworm (Heliothis virescens), the potato tuber moth, the coffee leaf miner (Leucoptera coffeella) and the Cucurbit Beetle (Diabrotica speciosa) on kidney bean.
